Michael Kelly, 1957-2003. Kelly, a damn good journalist and writer, and one of the guiding forces behind my favorite magazine, was killed Thursday while on assignment in Iraq. Ken Layne has links to many articles and obits. Dan Kennedy at the Boston Phoenix writes about Kelly's career and Kennedy's memories of him, and the National Review has a few pieces about Kelly, as does The New Republic, which he edited in 1996-97. He will be missed.
