In honor of Rutgers graduate Joyce Kilmer, and in response to Justin Slotman’s desperate plea for the Nets to be added to the NBA’s national TV schedule, I present the following:

Nets

I think that I shall never see
New Jersey Nets on NBC.

A team that may lack household names
But leads the East by near six games.

A team that surely should be seen;
They’re 38 and 17.

A team with power, style, and class
That can kick the Wizards’ sorry ass.

Upon whose shoulders bear the weight
Of hopes throughout the Garden State.

Poems are made by fools like me
Who can’t watch Nets on TNT.
